How professional profile corrections work

Profiles are neutral public-source records. A correction or suppression request starts a human review; it does not automatically alter the directory.

Review sequence

  1. Identify the exact record. Use the profile ID and current public source.
  2. State the requested action. Correction, source update, identity mismatch review, or suppression review.
  3. Provide current supporting URLs. Do not send confidential client or matter information.
  4. Verify requester authority when needed. Claiming or materially changing a professional or firm profile requires separate identity and authority review.
  5. Compare before and proposed fields. Higher-risk identity, jurisdiction, or entity changes receive stricter review.
  6. Approve, reject, defer, or suppress with a receipt. Uncertainty is preserved; no result is inferred from silence or a failed source lookup.
  7. Retain rollback evidence. The prior public record remains available to authorized release operators for controlled rollback.

A source date, profile inclusion, correction receipt, or official-directory lookup does not establish professional quality, ranking, availability, engagement terms, discipline history, authorization for a particular matter, or current good standing. Users should confirm those matters directly with the professional and the applicable official authority.
